Monday, Nov. 30, is the deadline for California State University fall 2010 admissions applications. Because of Fresno State office closures due to furlough days and the Thanksgiving holiday, officials urge students who need assistance with their Mentor application to contact Enrollment Services by the end of the business day Tuesday, Nov. 24.
Fresno State offices will be closed Nov. 25-30 but applications will still be accepted online until the deadline.
Fresno State is “impacted” at the first-time freshman level, meaning the Nov. 30 application deadline will be strictly enforced, said Bernie Vinovrski, associate vice president for enrollment.
Impaction means that the campus has more applications during the priority filing period than can be accommodated. The university will use minimum CSU criteria for admitting first-time freshman applicants from high schools in Fresno State’s designated “local area” — Fresno, Madera, Kings and Tulare counties – and from other San Joaquin Valley schools historically served by Fresno State.
Fresno State will continue to accommodate all eligible upper division transfers who apply for fall 2010 admission, but they too must meet the Nov. 30 application deadline. The campus is closed to lower-division transfers, second baccalaureate and postbaccalaureate unclassified applicants.
Questions should be directed to the Admissions and Records Office at 559.278.2261. Online applications are available at http://www.csumentor.edu.
