Fresno State will never ever get the respect from the hype commite aka hiesman voters. Why because of who they are and where they play. We could go into USC when they are No. 1 in the nation and score 50 again or beat them this time and we still wont get the respect. It seems no matter what we do we will never get the respect from the NCAA. Just like Trent Dilfer in the past Beat USC and we got no respect. They said Heath Shuler was the better quaterback. Why becasue he plays in a big time conference against big time school. Where is Heath Shuler? How many game or years did he win or play????? Right they got it right. lol Dilfer went on to play many years and even won a super bowl. But hey Heath Shuler was better than him remember??? So yea Mathews can run his booty off and average 200 yards a game and it still wont matter to these dimwits in the NCAA. I guess his 256 yards he shredded that Boise Defense was nothing. Its ok leave him of the great hype race aka the heisman race and let him go to the NFL and help someone win the real big game just the way Dilfer did. If Mathews played for Florida USC or Pitt all you would hear is that he is the best running back and deserves to win the heisman trophy. Dont hand him that hype trophy and just hand him the ball and see how far he will carry you.

Ryan should be at least invited to New York for the Heisman ceremony. He is such a great young man with a tremendous talent. My hope is someday when he is in the NFL someone will say, “we missed on this guy.”

His stats are great, but I think in the long run he doesn’t stand a chance against the Tebow types and those big schools and all that exposure they get. Not coach Hill’s fault, just the way it is. He might be mentioned in the conversation, but we will see how the whole season pans out. I hope he winds up with the 49ers!!!

Ryan Mathews is a great player but not heisman material. The competition is just not their for him to get that exposure some one would say he deserves. Don’t blame him blame the coach. Time to give the coach the boot! Winning these losing teams year after year is getting tired. Can’t beat the big boys time for a change..Get job Mr. Mathews.

Great player and athlete, but because of his conference and uniform he wears he will not get anywhere near a nomination.

Ryan Mathews has given Fresno St alot of exposure this year, even through 3 tough losses. Thanks Ryan for all your hard work, you deserve to be a Heisman candidate for sure! Keep on trucking!!

he wont get the heisman. But its great to get nominated. Our football team is not a big program so he wont get it, even though he deserves it.
