Combining creativity with her love for animals, junior April Curran started her own business more than four years ago designing custom pet clothing, beds, toys, and accessories. Raised in an artistic family, Curran said art was something that always came naturally to her.

Six years ago Curran learned how to sew and began making pint-sized clothing for her two Chihuahuas, Tama and Boo, using patterns and designs of her own.

What started as a solution to clothe her dogs in custom apparel has now grown into an online business that sells to customers in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Italy.

She primarily caters to dogs, but has made custom orders for cats, rabbits and even ferrets.

As a fashion merchandising major, Curran said she hopes to use her degree to expand her business once she graduates.

Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?
A: I want to be a designer for pet apparel. This is what I enjoy doing.

Q: If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?
A: If I could have any super power it would be to slow time or stop time, just so I could give myself some more hours in the day to get stuff done.

Q: What is your biggest pet peeve?
A: My biggest pet peeve would be anyone who̢۪s rude. Like someone being rude in a theater or something.

Q: What is one thing about you that would surprise people?
A: I̢۪m a procrastinator. As busy as I am, I will wait until the last minute to do something. But usually that̢۪s when I wind up creating my best work.

Q: What is the farthest destination you̢۪ve traveled to and what were you doing there?
A: San Francisco. It was a trip to celebrate with my boyfriend for his birthday.

Q: What was your favorite childhood activity?
A: Coloring. I loved my color crayons.

Q: What are you passionate about?
A: I̢۪m passionate about my animals. I love animals and I love what I do for animals.
