For the past two semesters i’ve been using a website i found called bigwords.com. it is amazing how much many i’m able to save by using that site. the website is like a google for cheap textbook searching and will show the cheapest possible combinations including shipping on all of your books. it’s amazing! this semester i was able to save an unbelievable amount of $372! i would recommend that site to anyone trying to save the most on their textbook purchases.

I bought my books on amazon.com this semester. thank goodness I did. i saved about $200, which was the price of one book at Kennel. Previous semesters i bought my books at the used bookstores across from campus, but after seeing the savings available from buying online, it was an easy choice. I will definately buy my books online from now on. The prices at Kennel are just ridiculous.

I only use the internet to get my textbooks. I was tired of constantly over paying for books all the time. It’s rediculous when i can just spend about 10 minutes searching on Bigwords.com and save about 100 bucks then waiting at the Campus bookstore for ever and wasting well over 400 bucks! haha makes no sense to me what so ever! Its 2008 why are people still going to the bookstore to get their books.

Best way is to buy a used book from someone who took the class the semester before. If that’s not an option then buy a cheap version off abebooks.com or half.com. But the real issue is that while we get stuck paying $150 for a book that has the same information as a $25 book, select teachers and most head of departments are getting between $4,000 and $8,000 per semester from the book publishers to do “trial” and submit opinions on the books thier classes use. Basically it amounts to a bribe, the teachers make money, the publishers make money, kennel bookstore makes money, all at the students expense, you should write a story about that……
