Thumbs up to the Fresno State baseball team. Sure, their College World Series win was two months ago, but it seems like Fresno State, and the city of Fresno in general, still hasn̢۪t come down from the excitement of proving ourselves as the best baseball team in the nation. Here̢۪s to hoping for the start of a trend.

Thumbs up Christopher Nolan, for directing a “Batmanâ€Â sequel that didn’t completely suck. It may not have been perfect, but it was certainly better than the days when George Clooney donned the nipple-suit and tried to keep the governor, dressed in a kimono and polar bear slippers, from saying “cool itâ€Â so damn much.

Thumbs down to iPhone software update. Sure, it looks cool, but older-generation owners like some of us here have just cluttered and bogged down the phone with applications we don’t need — like PhoneSaber.

Thumbs up to parking on the first day of school. Also, thumbs up to book prices, cancelled classes and mad cow disease — all underappreciated. We’ll let you know when we figure out exactly how.
