California State University, Fresno will accommodate fewer new students for Fall 2008 due to the $312.9 million cut to the California State University budget proposed by the Governor last week.
Effective immediately, the university is no longer accepting applications from: 1) Lower Division Transfers with fewer than 60 semester units, except for applicants to Nursing and Engineering, 2) Postbaccalaureate Applicants seeking a second BA/BS degree, except for applicants to nursing and engineering, and 3) Postbaccalaureate Unclassified applicants.
The university is still open to First-Time Freshmen, Upper-Division Transfers, Graduates, and Credential applicants.
Application Deadlines for Fall 2008 are:
* Upper-Division Transfers: April 1, 2008
* Returning Students April 1, 2008
* Graduate and Credential April 1, 2008
* Postbaccalaureate April 1, 2008 (in critical fields)
The Postbaccalaureate category is limited to critical fields such as science and mathematics and applicants in pre-professional fields.
Fresno State is expecting to admit up to 600 fewer students in fall 2008 to ensure that continuing and new students have classes available to help them make progress toward graduation. It is important that prospective students adhere to the application deadlines above. We will continue to accept late applications from veterans who have recently returned from active duty.
