The Farm Market unveiled its newest student-made product, pomegranate jelly, Wednesday with a free tasting.
“Everybody really enjoyed it,” said Ryann Bringhurst, a freshman pre-nursing major who works at the Market. “It tastes really good, like pomegranate, but sweeter. It goes great with our Challah bread or with toast.”
The jelly is just one of ten new products developed by Dr. Dennis Ferris’s Food Systems Management 134 class, including cream cheese bars and Jello with whipped cream cheese. A 10.5 oz. jar is priced at $4.50.
The Farm Market carries a variety of jams, jellies, sauces, salsas, and ice cream toppings, all in a wide array of flavors, most priced at $3.75 per jar.
The remaining seven student-made products will have their debut in a few days, once they are unpacked and labeled. These include cream cheese bars and Jello, which are priced at $1.25 each.
