In the spring of 2006 I had the honor of being a guest lecturer at California State University, Fresno teaching Sculpture. It was at this time that I met Harold Gallagher. I found out that besides being very talented, humorous and inspirational he was also a certified pilot trainer. It wasn’t much later that I was taking lessons in glider flying! That aside, I’m thrilled that he has reflected his passion for soaring into very interesting sculptural forms. The “Realm of Flight” video wonderfully translates through his powerful and articulate voice the perceptions of the flying experience… the sculptures echo what he has witnessed. From what I can see in the video, he has created a new body of work that defines air and clouds in traditional Alabaster that evokes the silence, roar, turbulence, and splendors of the sky. Congratulations to your artistic achievement and the
destiny of your journey.
