In preparation for the usual start-of-semester traffic congestion and parking crunch, it will be helpful for faculty, staff, and students to arrive early at campus and allow extra time to find a parking place.
For the first few weeks of school the Save Mart Center North Lot will be available for overflow parking until 3:30 p.m. each day excluding Friday, January 18th due to an event at the Save Mart Center.
The intersection at Barstow and Chestnut Avenues has reopened for east and westbound traffic. The construction of the roundabout at the intersection is complete, but signage and striping is forthcoming. We apologize for the inconvenience, however we were able to complete this portion of the project during the winter recess to minimize impact to our campus community. We
appreciate your continued patience as we get closer to finishing this project.
When driving in a roundabout, remember to slow down to 15 mph, use caution, when approaching the roundabout and yield to vehicles already in the roundabout, and give the vehicles in the roundabout the right away.
Another change this semester is that the northern most structure in Lot V is reserved for premium reserved parking permit holders only and will be enforced. If you are interested in purchasing a stall please contact the traffic operations office at 278.2950.
Traffic control will be posted along Barstow and Woodrow Avenues to ease congestion. Please follow the direction of traffic officers and signage.
If you have questions, please contact Amy Armstrong, University Police Department public information officer, at 278.6709.
