Cross Country
The Bulldogs placed third at the Cal Poly Invitational Saturday, lead by junior Roxanne Sellick.
Sellick finished the 5K race ninth overall with a time of 18:17, improving from a 19:31 time at the invitational last year.
Senior Meredith Hawkins finished with a time of 13:33 for 13th place and sophomore Marissa McPhail finished 14th at 18:39.
For the men, freshman Erick Garcia finished 18th with a time of 27:17 and led the ̢۪Dogs to a fifth place finish in the 8K race.
Sophomore Franke Sanders placed 23rd with a time of 27:43 and freshman Elijan Carillo placed 27th with a time of 28:11.
The ̢۪Dogs will travel to Logan, Utah Oct. 27 for the WAC Championships.
Women̢۪s Volleyball
Fresno State swept Louisiana Tech Saturday afternoon for the second time in WAC play.
The Lady ̢۪Dogs, led by Angela Wiggins and Alisha McKee, won the sets 30-19, 30-16 and 30-28.
Wiggins had 11 kills and McKee had 10, respectively.
The Lady Techsters had the opportunity in game three when they tied it up at 19-19 after being behind 17-0.
They took the lead at 23-21 but the Bulldogs̢۪ Meghan Moss served an ace followed by a block by McKee and Lauren Berger tied up the game.
After a rally back and forth, a service error by La. Tech gave the ̢۪Dogs the game.
This was the fifth straight win over La. Tech and the Bulldogs lead the series 10-2.
Women̢۪s Soccer
The Bulldogs began conference play Friday with a 1-0 win over San Jose State.
In the 43nd minute, Amanda Reyes headed in a corner kick off a pass from Andrea Alires.
Prior to the lone goal, 12 minutes and nine seconds remained in the first half when power in Bulldog Stadium went out, delaying the match almost two hours.
The Bulldogs out shot the Spartans, 14-11.
Women̢۪s Tennis
Three Bulldogs competed at the Saint Mary̢۪s Invitational in Moraga, Calif. on Saturday and Sunday.
After being rained out Friday, tournament play began Saturday.
Junior Danon Beatty defeated Pacific̢۪s Svenja Arens in round 32 and sophomore Vanessa Heroux defeated Cal̢۪s Rachael Dillon.
Beatty and Herouz went 1-2 in doubles, beating Portland̢۪s Gullikson and Jenks 8-6.
The duo lost to San Francisco̢۪s Gratian and Heinser 8-4 in the quarterfinals.
