The final permit approvals from City of Fresno for the entire Chestnut Avenue project and been received and the construction crews have remobilized. Crews this week are staking for curb, gutter, and road pavement in order to reopen the western portion of Chestnut Avenue between Shaw and Barstow by the end of the month.
Pressure testing of the new water lines is also underway. Once these lines are tested and approved by the City the traffic control north of Bullard Avenue can be removed and paving will be completed.
Repair of an old leaking FID irrigation line is also occurring at the Barstow/Chestnut intersection. Once this repair is completed, that portion of Barstow Avenue east of the intersection will be repaved.
We recognize the inconvenience this project has caused our campus community and are doing everything we can to reopen critical sections of Chestnut Avenue as soon as possible.
