On Tuesday, September 18th, from dawn until 3 p.m., the Henry Madden Library will be closed to all students, staff, and faculty for safety reasons in order to install the concrete outer walls of the new building near the entrance to the existing library.
The Library will re-open at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18th and remain open until 10 p.m.
(To assist students who may be inconvenienced, the Library will remain open the day before, Monday the 17th, until 10 p.m.)
The walkway between the Library and University Center will be closed from September 17th until September 21st for this installation process. Flag men will be present around the site as needed.
Online reference services via the “Ask the Librarian” form on the Library’s Web page and via e-mail at [email protected] will remain in operation on Tuesday.
Books requested from the warehouse can be picked up in the northwest entrance of the University Center on Tuesday until the Library reopens that day at 3 p.m.
Library kiosks will be set up in the free speech area and near Parking Lot D to inform students who may not know that the Library is closed.
If you have questions or concerns about the construction, please call Sara Wallet, Project Manager, at 278-2777.

This will not really affect me, I gave up on using the library physically many moons ago. It just hasn’t been an option for a while.

Getting to be a bit of a joke, Fresno State. This library project isn’t worth the concessions we’ve made a students over the last few years. Give us options at least.
