The Big Fresno Fair is back in town

Fair's theme: "Join the Celebration" is a tribute to 150 years of Fresno history

Students with a hankering for deep-fried anything followed by a ferris wheel ride can find fulfillment at The Big Fresno Fair this week. The fair offers sticky cinnamon rolls, blue-ribbon produce displays and a swirling rides. This year there’s even a wooden pirate ship, loaded with faux loot, which promises to be a popular attraction. The fair’s theme — “Join the Celebration” — marks the 150th anniversary of Fresno County. In the sesquicentennial display building, be on the lookout for a picture of the Helm Ranch taken in 1893 — it’s now Fresno State’s campus. The fair runs through Sunday, Oct. 15th.
