Twenty-year-old Luke Snyder of Raymore, Mo., does his best to hold
on to “Sankey” in front of nearly 8,000 plus fans Saturday
night at the Save Mart Center where the Professional Bull Riders
tour had its second show of a two-day stop. The event attracted 16,429
people to the arena Friday and Saturday for the thrill of watching
60 riders hop atop beasts weighing more than 1,750 pounds and trying
to hold on for the eternity of eight seconds.

to a 4-2 victory over Nevada in the first game of Saturday’s
doubleheader to open Western Athletic Conference play.

The Fresno State ice hockey club team arrived with high expectations
but came up short of defending its title this weekend at the Pacific
Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs. Play began Friday for the
Bulldogs with a 9-1 loss to College of the Canyons. “I’m
proud of how far we got this season seeing as we played with a limited
number of players,” defensemen Kevin Keeler said. “I
feel we accomplished a lot.” On Saturday, the Bulldogs faced
