Fresno State beats then-second-place Hawaii; Bulldogs
qualify for sixth seed in WAC tournament

In a season filled with ups and downs, the Fresno State men’s
basketball team managed to end its regular season on a high note,
a 69-60 win over Western Athletic Conference foe Hawaii. The Bulldogs
(14-14, 10-8 WAC) attacked the Warriors (19-10, 11-7), with a steady
dose of inside and outside scoring, combined
with a few fast break baskets.More>>
Softball splits
two against Pacific
Fresno
State, ranked 15th in the nation, split a two-game softball
series against No. 18 Pacific on Saturday, winning the first
game 1-0 before losing the nightcap 4-1. Pitcher Jamie Southern
tossed a four-hit shutout for the Bulldogs to improve her
record to 9-1 on the season. In game two, pitcher Amanda
Wolf got the loss, giving up four runs (three earned) and
nine hits in the full seven innings. The Bulldogs host Campbell
on Monday and Virginia on Tuesday.

Sixth place has never been so sweet for Fresno State.
The men’s basketball team locked up the sixth seed in the
Western Athletic Conference Tournament with Saturday’s 69-60
victory over Hawaii at the Save Mart Center, home of this season’s
tournament.
While playing the tournament at home won’t give the Bulldogs
too much of an advantage—Fresno State is 8-8 on its home floor
this season—the sixth seed will.More>>
