Singer teases crowd with sexually-charged show

Friday night’s sexually charged Britney Spears concert arrived in Fresno on the third stop of her 43-city Onyx Hotel Tour. Spears danced, moaned, sang and shook it for all she was worth and the crowd of 12,000 that filled the Save Mart Center had mixed reviews. The production about to be witnessed, an emcee said, would take the audience to a place where fun-filled fantasies would keep them on their toes and where their bodies would be privy to much titillation.More>>

 

Journalism symposium gives first-hand look at war coverage

Two Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists discussed the atrocities of seeing war first-hand and gave pessimistic looks at the United States’ future in Iraq during a symposium Friday. Chris Hedges, a reporter for the New York Times, and Seymour Hersh, a free-lance writer and contributor to The New Yorker Magazine, addressed war coverage in the media during “Covering the War after the War”, a Roger Tatarian Journalism Symposium sponsored by the department of mass communication and journalism.More>>

 

500 watch Amerasia finale

Fresno State students and the community were treated to an evening of dancing, acting and singing performances during the Friday grand finale of Amerasia week. A diverse group of performances featured Japanese and Hmong dancers, a Lion dance, Martial art acts and a performance by rock band Abandoned Earkraft. The performers included both students and members of the community.More>>

 

Britney Spears entertained a full house at the Save Mart Center Friday, with an elaborate stage setup, backup dancers and numerous costume changes.

Grounds crew severs power lines; building phone service interrupted

As of Sunday, most of the Peters business building was without phone service after workers accidentally severed a cable Friday morning. A Fresno State grounds crew was planting trees when it severed the underground pipeline that supplies the building with power. At about 9:30 a.m., the third, fourth and fifth levels of the west wing and the third floor of the east wing of the building lost phone service.More>>
