NEW YORK — The 2025 Fresno State Wind Orchestra is set to perform at Carnegie Hall in the New York International Music Festival.
The festival accepts applicants on an audition basis and only two showcase university ensembles are chosen each year to perform.
This year is an especially important one for the ensemble, as it is Gary P. Gilroy’s last semester as director of bands & professor of music before his retirement.
Gilroy has been with Fresno State since 1993 and has been heading as director of bands since 2006. He has received a number of awards and honors in his career for both his role as a director and as a composer.
The ensemble has been working toward this for months, and will at long last take the Carnegie stage as the final performance of the night on Tuesday, April 8 at 9:55 p.m.
