The Student Health and Counseling Center and Fresno State Associated Students Inc. (ASI) will be hosting a three-hour self defense class for all Fresno State students on Feb. 14.
The free workshop will allow students to learn more about their bodies, self defense, CPR training and how to handle yourself in dangerous situations.
This event will be taking place at the Student Recreation Center.
The workshop will have two sessions available at 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m.
Kathy Yarmo, one of the organizers of the workshop, said that the workshop is gender inclusive and needs no experience to take part in.
Students will be able to give themself power on how to respond and deal with any encounter that comes their way, as well as learn more about their own mind, spirit and body.
“We decided to do it on Valentine’s Day because Valentine’s Day does not have to be only about relationships and couples but more about loving yourself,” says Yarmo.
To sign up, visit the Student Health and Counseling Center’s website or the ASI Instagram account.
